Short answer. Hindi-medium or Bengali-medium schooling is not a wall. Most Learn With Smile learners started there. You join a live batch of around 6. When a concept does not land, the teacher explains in Hindi or Bengali, then you go back to English. Everyday conversation is about 6 months live, from ₹999/mo, inclusive of taxes. Spoken English.
An English-only room sounds strict. For a genuine beginner it produces silence. Silence is the one thing a speaking class cannot afford. Support in your language is how you get to English, not a way to avoid it.
What “medium” actually decided — and what it did not
School medium decided how much English you heard between 6 and 16. It did not decide whether you can run a standup at 28. Kavya (Hyderabad, advocate) and Ananya (Bengaluru, data analyst) both had to build speaking in a live room. Their stories are on real results.
- You can read more than you speak — that is the usual Hindi/Bengali-medium pattern. Spoken class closes that gap.
- You do not need to “think in English” on day one. You need to finish a sentence out loud.
- Grammar explained in Hindi or Bengali, then practised in English, is faster than grammar explained in English you cannot follow.
How the first month works

What we will not promise
We will not promise that six months turns you into a news-anchor. Everyday conversation: introduce yourself, handle a phone call, speak for two minutes, join a simple meeting. That is the 6-month finish line from zero. Work English is often a further 3 months if meetings are the next job. How long it takes.

How the bilingual bridge works in class
Learner: “Yesterday I am going to market.”
Teacher (Hindi): “कल की बात है, तो ‘went’ — बीते समय वाला रूप।”
Teacher (English): “Yesterday I went to the market. Your turn — what did you do yesterday?”
Learner: “Yesterday I went to office.” Teacher: “To the office. Once more?”
The explanation takes ten seconds. Everything else stays in English. That is the difference between a bridge and a Hindi lecture.
