Interview Preparation in English

Keep it to 90 seconds in three parts: where you are now (current role and one line of scope), what you have done that is relevant (one or two concrete achievements with a number attached), and why you are in this room (what draws you to this specific role). Do not recite your resume chronologically and do not start with your birthplace or schooling. We drill this answer until it is automatic, then record it back to you so you hear your own filler words and pacing.

STAR is Situation, Task, Action, Result — a four-part structure for answering behavioural questions such as 'tell me about a conflict with a teammate'. It is standard at Indian IT services firms, GCCs, product companies and most MNC HR rounds, and interviewers there are explicitly trained to score against it. The most common mistake is spending 80% of the answer on Situation and never stating a measurable Result.
