Short answer. Freeze is usually a habit, not a vocabulary hole. If you know the words and still go silent, you need a room where you talk every hour — games, debates, 1-minute prompts — not another grammar PDF. [Interactive Speaking](https://www.learnwithsmile.app/course-interactive-speaking) is 3 months, ₹1,199/mo, approx. 6 learners, up to 2 live classes a week.

Ananya could not speak the dashboard in Monday standups. She does now. That is the job this class is built for. See [her story](https://www.learnwithsmile.app/success-stories).

## What freeze actually is

You think of a sentence. Then you inspect it: tense, article, “is this too simple?” The inspection is the freeze. Fluent speakers stall out loud with a phrase (“the thing is…”) instead of going silent. Interactive class trains the stall, on purpose, in a batch small enough that being wrong costs nothing.

If you cannot form the sentence yet, start with [Spoken English](https://www.learnwithsmile.app/course-spoken-english) first. Interactive assumes there is language to retrieve. The picker is [which class you need](https://www.learnwithsmile.app/spoken-business-or-interactive-english).

## What an hour looks like

Block Minutes What you do

Warm-up 8–10 Word games, associations — mouth moving before the topic lands

Prompt 10–12 One-minute talks. Same clock every week so the freeze has less room

Story or role-play 15–18 A scene from work or daily life. Teacher catches the repeating error

Debate / discussion 12–15 Agree, disagree, ask back. This is the standup muscle

Close 5 One sentence you will reuse tomorrow

A typical 60-minute Interactive class. You are on the mic every block.

## Who this is for — and who should pick Spoken instead

- For you if WhatsApp is fine and Zoom is not.

- For you if you rehearse answers in your head and then say nothing.

- For you if you already finished a spoken course and still freeze in meetings.

- Spoken first if you still translate every sentence from Hindi or Bengali.

- Business English if the freeze is only in client calls and status updates — [client-call English](https://www.learnwithsmile.app/english-for-client-calls-india).

## Numbers, clearly

3 months. ₹1,199/month GST included. Approx. 6 learners. Up to 2 live classes a week. Recording is for revision if you miss a slot — the class itself is live. ₹0 demo in a real batch. Habits that help between classes: [5 speaking habits](https://www.learnwithsmile.app/blog/5-speaking-habits-that-killed-my-hesitation).

This is not an IELTS speaking lab. Cue cards are an exam format. Interactive is for work and life. If a form later asks for a band, we will say so. Until then, you talk.

Sit in one Interactive hour. Count how many times you speak. Then decide.

FAQs

## Freeze and interactive class

Straight answers. Message anytime; WhatsApp replies 09:00–12:00 IST.

### I know English but freeze when I speak. Which class should I take?

Interactive Speaking. You already have the words; the checking step between thinking and speaking is the freeze. The class is games, debates, role-plays and 1-minute prompts in a batch of around 6, 3 months, ₹1,199/month GST included. Ananya’s standup story is this problem. If you cannot yet form a sentence, start with Spoken English instead.

### Is an interactive English class just games, or will I actually speak?

You speak every block. Warm-up, a timed prompt, a story or role-play, a debate, then one sentence to reuse tomorrow. The games exist so the mouth moves before the inspection starts. Sit in a ₹0 live hour and count how many times you are on the mic.

### Should a complete beginner take Interactive Speaking?

No. Interactive assumes there is language to retrieve. A beginner still needs sounds, sentences and 1,000+ words — that is Spoken English, 6 months, ₹999/month. Interactive is the next room after the words exist.
